The utilisation of antioxidants in the complex therapy of chronic periodontitis significantly enhances the susceptibility of periodontal tissues to treatment. This is demonstrated by the enhancement of their functional and metabolic state, which is achieved by enhancing the trophic state of the tissue and the functional
characteristics of blood form elements, as well as by reducing the level of products in the blood that have a membrane destabilising effect.
